Continuing his commitment to bring new people and diversity into the Glen Cove political process, Republican leader Tip Henderson, announced the Republican candidates for the upcoming city election. "These candidates represent the diverse population of Glen Cove," said Mr. Henderson, "and they share a commitment to make Glen Cove a better place to live, work and raise a family for all our citizens."

For mayor, Republicans will be running 44-year-old attorney Drew Fonrose. Mr. Fonrose is a graduate of Boston University and Hofstra Law School and practices law locally. He is chairman of the Glen Cove NAACP Education Council, a member of the Coalition for Glen Cove, a founder of the Glen Cove Community Action Group and a mentor in the Glen Cove Youth Board Program. He was also a recent candidate for the Glen Cove School Board. For city Council, the candidates are Kerry Catanzano, John Hanley, Alfred Evans, Joseph Fiorino, Luis Rivera and Frank O'Regan.
"I believe the residents of Glen Cove have lost patience with the present Democratic administration," continued Mr. Henderson. "Nothing has happened in Glen Cove for the last four years except for a continuous increase in our taxes. Despite the present administration's ongoing promises, nothing has happened at the waterfront, the downtown remains a revolving door for businesses coming and going, and the city continues in a fiscal tailspin as evidenced by two recent downgrades in our bond rating. It's time to elect a new administration with the ability to lead Glen Cove out of the stagnation caused by 12 years of Democratic rule."
