Lillian H. Dunn, 72, resident of County Rt. 7, Oswego, NY passed away June 21, 2005 at the Oswego Hospital. Born in Glen Cove on April 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edna (Thompson) Hollman. She was a teacher's aide in the Glen Cove School District. She lived in Glen Cove all of her life until she and her husband moved to Oswego in 1994.
Surviving are her husband, John J. Dunn Jr.; one daughter, Cynthia (David) Proietti of Oswego; one son, Michael S. Dunn of Oswego; three grandchilden, Jocelyn, Michelle and John Proietti; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son John J. Dunn III; her brother Arthur Hollman; and her sisters, Helen Roland and Ruth Kirk.
Lillian loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She was a patron of the arts in the New York City area. She was an avid antique collector and was particularly knowledgeable of antique glass. She loved to visit different areas of the US with her husband and lived in Fairbanks, AK, for a time. While there she embraced the native people and their culture and collected Native Alaskan artwork.
Lillian showed her love for people by accepting them as they were and showing kindness and generosity freely and often sacrificially. A beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, her generous love, care, support and wisdom are greatly cherished.
Memorial services will be held on July 2 at the New Covenant Community Church, 51 E. Oneida St., Oswego. Arrangements were made by the Nelson Funeral Home.
