    After a brief business meeting of the Glen Cove City Council on Tuesday, May 24, Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp opened the floor for comments from the public. A number of residents of the Craft Avenue area were in the audience, having received fliers requesting they come to the meeting to discuss the murder of Jabbar McBride on May 11 on the corner of Craft and Glen Cove Avenues.   • Sports: North Shore High School Viking Sports

    On Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18, the Vikings traveled to Mitchel Park to compete in the County Championship meet. In this meet all the teams in Nassau County are separated by size into three classifications. The Vikings competed in Class A, the small schools section. Once again Chris Bauer won first place in the 400m intermediate hurdles. This is a great achievement for Chris because he had struggled in the past. By showing determination through a series of setbacks, Chris has shown that he is truly a champion. The entire team and coaching staff are very proud of our county champion. In the shot put, junior Mike Ferrara made an impressive throw of 40' 8" that earned him fourth place and a medal. Mike's athleticism, determination and willingness to learn a sport he never competed in before, has brought him far in this event. Great things are hoped for next season. FULL STORY
