The 2005 Glen Cove Girl Scout cookie sale was a tremendous success with 197 girls selling a total of 17,452 boxes of cookies. Despite the snow and the bitter cold the cookies were delivered on schedule. This year there were 22 troops participating in the cookie sale.

Glen Cove's highest seller was Summer Smiley from troop #127 with 846 boxes of cookies. The second highest seller was Jennifer Kwapisz of Troop #5 with 602 boxes.

I would like to thank our wonderful and dedicated cookies moms and dads for all their time and effort in making this year's sale such a success. They not only turned their homes and cars into cookie warehouses, but they gave their time to attend cookie booth sales and completing the cookie paperwork. They are Troop 1 - Liz Fitzgibbon, Troop 4 - Barbara Mienko, Troop 5 - Bill Kwapisz, Troop 6 - Selma Silver, Troop 9 - Rita Quezada, Troop 16 - Rosa Morra, Troop 19 - Mary Trainor, Troop 31 - Theresa Nardine, Troop 40 - Cheryl Taheri, Troop 44 - Pam Aulson, Troop 75 - Rosann Fabian, Troop 103 - Claudia Delgrosso, Troop 117 - Elena Parente, Troop 120-Donna Piccardo Dawes, Troop 121-Grady Farnan, Troop 127-Carol Reed, Troop 128 - Maria Marciano, Troop 143 - Brenda Weck, Troop 1467 - Denise Reynolds, Troop 1470 Cindy Arena/Cindy Caruso, Troop 1509 -Helena Suozzi and Troop 1858 - Barrie Dratch.

The Girl Scouts would like to thank al of the Glen Cove merchants who permitted the girls to sell their cookies in front of their stores. Stop & Shop, King Kullen, CVS, the Glen Cove Movie Theater, Blockbuster, Charlie's and Cove Lanes were extremely kind to all of the girls.

And at last a special thank you to the people of Glen Cove for your continued support and love of Girls Scout cookies, which represents the girl's largest money-earning opportunity of the year, for without you there would be no sale. Thank you.
