There will soon be a new façade on Glen Street in Glen Cove's downtown business district. Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp said, "The buildings that housed the Glen Cove Community Development Agency and our Youth Bureau at 116 Glen Street will be redeveloped. They were purchased by architect Jim O'Grady through a CDA Economic Development initiative. What was once an eyesore will be transformed into beautiful professional offices and retail space." The demolition was conducted by North Shore Contracting under the watchful eye and "claw" of owner Ted Dubicki.

When the redevelopment is completed, 116 Glen Street will have 5,000 square feet of retail space on the first floor and 2,200 square feet on the second floor. Mr. O'Grady will use part of the second floor as his professional offices and will lease executive suites in the remainder of that space. The first floor can be subdivided into retail spaces from 750 square feet to 4,250 square feet.
"As evidenced by the escalating influx of high quality new business interests, people are now realizing what we've been saying all along-Glen Cove is truly the place to be. We are working hard and all I can say is that I am very proud to be part of this success story," concluded Mayor Holzkamp.
