The New Profile of 116 Glen Street
There will soon be a new façade on Glen Street in Glen Cove's downtown business district. Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp said, "The buildings that housed the Glen Cove Community Development Agency and our Youth Bureau at 116 Glen Street will be redeveloped. They were purchased by architect Jim O'Grady through a CDA Economic Development initiative. What was once an eyesore will be transformed into beautiful professional offices and retail space." The demolition was conducted by North Shore Contracting under the watchful eye and "claw" of owner Ted Dubicki.

How Much Sand Did the Sweep When the City Swept the Sand?
Just in case you were wondering, Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp announced at the Glen Cove City Council meeting of Tuesday, May 10, that the first round of sweeping city streets to remove the sand following this past wicked winter has been completed. The city picked up 2,600 tons of sand, giving folks an idea of just how much snow and ice actually fell...quite a lot. The mayor asked for patience from residents, as the second go-round is in progress and if your street has not yet been swept twice, it will be soon.
