Every chair in the middle aisle of the auditorium at the Dec. 16 North Shore Public Board Meeting was filled, and every person in the section was there to stand and support North Shore Federation of Employees Representative Jay Ehmer's statements, but before he spoke many residents and one student made public speeches in support of the North Shore teachers.

Photocircuits Corporation to Stay in Glen Cove
Mayor Holzkamp in Collaborative Effort to Keep 1,000 Jobs --
Photocircuits, the premier printed circuit board manufacturer, has decided after much deliberation to remain in Glen Cove, where it has been since 1951. Instead of relocating to Georgia, it will merge the bulk of its Georgia manufacturing into the Glen Cove facility. This means that nothing less than 1,000 jobs have been saved locally.

Nassau Zone of The NYS Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance recently honored Glen Cove physical education teacher Angela Zupa as Elementary PE Teacher of the Year and Glen Cove students Kristine Mariana and Giuseppe Salamone as Outstanding Physical Education students from Glen Cove HS.

North Shore High School Vikings Sports
The Vikings, reluctant to start their season in a new conference A, have proven many expectations wrong. Their positive attitude and intense spirit has been bringing them promising results. This strong team with eight returning seniors is ready to take on the season with confidence and ability. They have already won their first three games, and are expected to keep pushing throughout the year. Co-captains Billy Melillo and Brian Occhiuto, along with Coach Paul Girolamo are supporting the team every step of the way.
