Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp opened the city council meeting of Dec. 14 by recognizing "the family of Royal Holiday Travel. I say the family, because if you ask one person for help, you get them all." Susan Challender, her mother Matilda Fenech, her brother-in-law Walter Mazzeo and Walter's son Andrew Mazzeo each received a citation from the mayor, praising their willingness to do so much to make Glen Cove "the place to be." Friends Academy is extremely proud of its fall student/athletes. Competing in section VIII of the Nassau County Public School Athletic League, both the boys and girls varsity soccer teams were awarded their respective conference sportsmanship award. In addition, the boys team won the sportsmanship award for all of Nassau County. Playing for the Long Island Championship, both teams lost against Mattituck High School. FULL STORY
