Last week, Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp welcomed representatives of the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island to Glen Cove City Hall. They met in a cooperative effort in order to enroll eligible children and families into New York State's Free or Low-Cost Public Health Insurance programs. Eligible Glen Cove residents will be able to sign up right in their hometown. Health insurance benefits will include regular checkups, mental health, hospitalization, vision care, diabetic supplies, prescription drugs, emergency care, dental services and more.
Enrollers will be available every Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Conference Room 1, main floor, Glen Cove City Hall. All enrollers are bilingual. For a free eligibility screening please call the Health and Welfare Council for an appointment at 489-9278, ext. 428. Walk-ins are welcome.
