Glen Cove BOE Readies for 2004-05
The Glen Cove Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on Thursday, July 1. Current Board President Janet Bates-Wilkins retained her position, and Carol Sucharski, re-elected to the board for a fourth term in this year's election, was voted in as vice president.
City of Glen Cove Partners for Children and Family Health
Last week, Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp welcomed representatives of the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island to Glen Cove City Hall. They met in a cooperative effort in order to enroll eligible children and families into New York State's Free or Low-Cost Public Health Insurance programs. Eligible Glen Cove residents will be able to sign up right in their hometown. Health insurance benefits will include regular checkups, mental health, hospitalization, vision care, diabetic supplies, prescription drugs, emergency care, dental services and more.
More than Par for the Course
Glen Cove Golf Pro Howie Robertson made good on his promise last week to play 200 holes of golf as a fundraiser for Noah Berry, a second grader at Deasy School who suffers from an aggressive childhood cancer and his family, including his mother, who is fighting breast cancer.

North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove is hosting a golf outing at the North Shore Country Club in Glen Head on Monday, August 2. All are welcome to join in for golf, fun, brunch, fun, cocktails, fun, dinner and awards and, as always, fun.
