Big Red Sports
The spring sports season is upon us once again and the boy's varsity tennis team is driving for the playoffs. Led by Captains Lexi Prince and Nikhil Shyam, the team continues to improve and push for excellence in Conference III. Great performances are displayed on a daily basis by both captains as well as by some rising stars. While seniors Nikhil Sham and Jason An decide on college majors and juniors Lexi Prince and Dmitriy Arteev stress about upcoming exams, sophomores Kevin Palacios, Jonathan Balingcongan, Matthew Marck, Michael Lowell and Bryan Figuera are beginning to accept their roles as tomorrow's leaders. Freshmen Karam Basra, Crhistian Perea, Jonathan Perez, Juan Echeverria and Jae Seo are not far behind the others as they consistently demonstrate their love for competition and the sport. Filled with energy on the court and in the classroom, the entire team stands as great ambassadors to the sport of tennis and Glen Cove High School's Big Red.

Senior pitcher Christie Swiezbin allowed only three hits in seven innings. Cori Gasser put North Shore up 2-0 with an RBI single and later scored the third run of the game.
