Ruth Johnson, 90, died Feb. 10, 2004. She was a lifelong resident of Glen Cove and the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian Johnson. She is survived by her sister Margaret Miller of Glen Cove and Gladys Wolfle of Largo, FL Ruth was born in Glen Cove and worked for Helena Rubenstein Manufacturing in Glen Head and retired in 1969 and resided in Largo, FL She was also a member of the Glen Cove Fire Auxiliary for 25 years. A memorial service will be held for her in Glen Cove in the spring at Hillside Cemetery.

Ronald Piepol of Greenvale, died on Feb. 16, 2004. Devoted husband of Marie. Beloved son of the late Stanley "Patch" and Stephanie, brother-in-law of Mike and Marguerite Carmody, uncle of Jay and Missy Carmody. Son-in-law of Joseph and June LaPadura, closest companions Aji, Jumpy, Little Mommy, Big Mommy and Tanya. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Anne Torres of Glen Cove, died on Feb. 20, 2004. Beloved mother of Ricky, Joanne Wojciechowski (Warren), Robert "Cholo" and the late Joe. Aunt of Irene Koszis, niece of Helen Hicks (Cliff) and Sophie Ryder. Survived by two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and many cousins. Arrangements made by Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Mass was held at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Interment private.

Filomena Galante (nee Fannie Troffa) died on Feb. 12, 2004. Wife of the late Carmine, mother of Gina Galante, Julie Messeer, Marguerite Venturino (Sal), Ann Pescucci (Ron) and Christine Robinson (John), sister of Mary Del Ferraro, Columbia Galasso, John (Angie), Albert (Nancy), Pete (Fannie) and Jimmy Galante. Grandmother of Todd and Billy Bailey, Mathew Venturino, Christa Pascucci and Shelby Galante. Arrangements made at the Marcus L. Bianconi Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass was held at St. Rocco, Glen Cove. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury.

Virginia Morris died on Feb. 22, 2004. Wife of the late Gibby, mother of Mary (Tony) Vargas, grandmother of Sean. Sister of Thomas Hopkins and also survived by nieces and nephews.
