Residents Go Down Leafy, Snowy Memory Lane at GC Council
City Hall was a-buzz with the chatter of high school students prior to the city council meeting of Dec. 9. High school music teacher Ed Norris was there with his Select Chorale to give meeting-goers a glimpse of what the chorale had done just last week when they played Carnegie Hall. After the echoes of 35 young, sweet voices left the chambers, the meeting commenced. No one else sang.

SC Waterfront/Environmental Meeting Ebbs and Flows
A small group gathered at Sea Cliff School last Wednesday night to discuss the Waterfront/Environmental Committee's waterfront revitalization plans. Having previously met with various community groups, the committee welcomed questions, concerns and ideas from residents on how to improve one of Sea Cliff's greatest resources.

North Shore's Ryan Galvin Earns MVP at the Senior Bowl
It was a good Thanksgiving for North Shore football this year, with senior Ryan Galvin setting a Nassau County Senior Bowl record with three touchdowns. Chris Galano made a splash on defense and Coach Dan Agovino served as running-backs coach, making things happen from the sidelines at the annual classic game at Hofstra University.

From the Glen Cove Junior Football Gridiron
The Pony Red team put its undefeated season on the line when it faced North Babylon in the AFC East Superbowl. Glen Cove lost the toss and kicked away to North Babylon. The Glen Cove defense was focused and shut Babylon down on downs on its first offensive possession. The Glen Cove offense took over and halfback Randell Lyons broke a 50-yard run to the North's 10-yard line. From there the North's defense came up with some big stops and Pony Red was unable to score.
