Richard Creede, Beautification Director, Dies at 50 --
Glen Cove lost one of its most valuable natural resources last week with the passing of Richard Creede; he was that much a part of the trees, flowers and water of the city he worked tirelessly to beautify. His spirit, an unlimited resource, will continue to permeate our city even though his physical presence cannot.

Big Red's Big Win at Homecoming
Points Scored Breaks 30-Year Record --
The Big Red varsity football team won its Homecoming game 56-32 over the Island Trees Bulldogs. The 56 points sets a school record for the most points scored in a single game breaking the old mark of 52 recorded by the 1971 team vs. Roslyn.

Vikings Celebrate Homecoming and Spirit Week --
North Shore High School showed its pride and spirit last week, culminating in a rousing, student-organized, Homecoming Pep Rally Friday afternoon. That night, there was a well-attended football game under the lights against Friends Academy. Several Viking teams secured playoff berths this week.
