Making their neighborhood "Bloom with Pride" has been the theme this past year for the Locust Valley Neighborhood Watch and our Adopt-A-Spot Garden. We have been carefully planning, cultivating and planting a garden to showcase the entrance to Locust Valley and our neighborhood.
During the past three weeks, thanks to the generous donations and contributions of many, new plantings and design work has been implemented and installed at our garden along Forest Avenue. This entrance garden currently boasts over 200 mums, 600 spring flowering bulbs, perennials, annuals, small shrubs, seasonal decorations, 10,000 pounds of decorator rocks and the hard work of a core group of volunteers from the Neighborhood Watch.
All of this would not have been possible if the following had not donated planting material or made financial donations to the Neighborhood Watch. I would like to thank Supervisor John Venditto, Town of Oyster Bay, Rob Walker, TOB Parks Dept., The LV Women's Club, Milanese Landscapers, M & A Landscapes, Little Flower Shop, Constantino's, Buchtenkirch Florist and residents in the area who have helped with this project.
Again, without the support of everyone, this garden could not exist. If you want to help or make a donation, contact me at the LVNW, PO Box 803, Locust Valley, NY 11560. I thank everyone for the hard work and generosity and look forward to continuing the garden now and forever and making our neighborhood "Bloom with Pride."
