GC BOE Hears Overview of District Report Card
At a special meeting of the Glen Cove Board of Education on Monday, June 9, Assistant Superintendent Diane Scricca reported to the board an overview of district performance based on the District Report Card for the year 2001-2002. The report card assesses the performance of the students on the grade four and grade eight proficiency exams and overall performance of high school students. When speaking with the Record Pilot after the meeting, Ms. Scricca iterated that this report was merely an overview, and that the report card will be presented to the public in intervals, with principals from the elementary, middle and high schools going into greater and more specific detail. The first presentation, by elementary school staff, will be done at the next school board meeting, Monday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school. Parents are strongly advised to attend with questions and comments.
