Civic Progress Party Edges Out New Village
In an election that can be described as about as close as you can get, the Civic Progress Party of Sea Cliff retained the mayoralty and two trustee seats on Tuesday, March 18, defeating the New Village Party candidates 51 to 49 percent in the trustee race. Eileen Krieb ran unopposed for mayor, receiving 1,152 votes. There was one write-in vote for Dom Candido which was disallowed, as Mr. Candido was running for trustee.

Glen Cove Supports Our Armed Forces
Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp and her office staff are coordinating a letter-writing campaign to Glen Cove's men and women in the armed forces. "At this difficult time in our country's history I feel it is important for those who are serving in the armed forces to know that their hometown supports them and wishes them well whether they are stateside or abroad," said Mayor Holzkamp.

Jay's World to Hold Ninth Annual Fundraiser at NSHS
Jay's World's Childhood Cancer Foundation recently donated $50,000 to Winthrop-University Hospital's growing pediatric cancer program. The money was raised during the foundation's 8th Annual Top Gun 3 vs. 3 Basketball Tournament in 2002. Now it's time to see what the foundation can do in 2003.
