Anyone who has been to a Sea Cliff Village Board Meeting over the past vast number of years would recognize Milton Lipson. Known to everyone as Mitch, his outspoken voice, erudite use of the English lesson, dapper demeanor, full knowledge of his subject and fear of nothing made him a force that confidently yet genteelly demanded one's attention. Mr. Lipson died of natural causes at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003.
Government was a part of Mr. Lipson's life from his days campaigning for New York Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia, to his appointment as a secret service agent working with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and then to Nassau County, where he was appointed head investigator for Eugene Nickerson, Nassau's first Democratic county executive. He later served as Sea Cliff Village court judge from 1986 through 1990, and continued to practice law until early 2002.
Mr. Lipson is survived by son Merek Lipson, daughter Eden Ross Lipson, eight grandchildren and his companion, Clara Cazzulino.
