How can a resident express utter rage and disgust at a school board? First they refuse to bargain in good faith with our teachers and now one of our finest, one of the very, very few math teachers qualified to teach, is bolting midyear for a better, no, very much better school district.

Perhaps, as I believe, it is our incompetent superintendent and her even more incompetent assistants. The woman who is steering our ship is really sinking it. Perhaps we should name the Glen Cove School District the Titanic. This teacher, who not only taught here for more than 10 years, but was so committed to this community and its children, she and her family moved here! Does the central administration live here? I think not, why should they? Their interest in this community only involves the bank that cashes their checks.

Well, as least this math teacher won't be alone in her new district as another teacher who recently left Glen Cove will be teaching in the same school. How lucky those kids are to have two fabulous ex-Glen Cove teachers!

Thank you, Dr. Freeley, you certainly are leaving us with memories. Now, when exactly are you leaving? Please, not only can the children not afford your "talents," but the community and its reputation certainly can't!

It is my opinion that if you want to save money, the best way would be to rid ourselves of district coordinators who are totally useless. For example, I am positive that one of the secretaries in the guidance office could run that department with her eyes closed. And she's a lot more professional than what's there now. I also told a board member that there are people in the district who should have been tapped for superintendent. With these people, you know where their hearts are.

Why must we be the district who abuses and maligns our best teachers? When will this board realize they are not serving our children well. The budget keeps increasing even through the quality teachers are being driven out of town. So many of our experienced teachers are gone. Why hasn't their departure decreased the budget. And who's next? I'm afraid to ask. When will the madness end?
