Eileen McCue (nee Fitzgibbon) of Glen Cove, died on Sept. 16, 2002. Daughter of the late William and Margaret, wife of the late Herbert (Lt. Glen Cove Police Dept.), mother of Martin, Herbert, James (Constance), Michael (Mary Ann) and John (Deborah), grandmother of Kristin, Erin, Ryan and Megan. Florence Schierhorst of Glen Cove died on Sept. 15, 2002 at age 59. Wife of Herbert W. daughter of Florence Kelly and the late Robert E., sister of Maureen Duffy, Denise Millington and Dolores Segelken, the late Warren Kelly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and Aunt Helen Candelora. Florence also maintained friendships that endured for decades. She was an active member of the American Nystagmus Network. She provided internet and e-mail support for people with acquired Nystagmus (vision disorder). She helped people get proper diagnosis and treatment. She gave support and tips on coping, she also had a chiara malformation (brain stem) and was interested in promoting awareness of the condition. Peter A. Scaramuzzo of Bayville, formerly of Glen Cove died on Sept. 13 2002. Husband of Minette, father of Suzanne Badger, grandfather of Jonathan and Christopher Badger. Jason Mitchell Bailey of Palm Beach Gardens, died suddenly Sept. 7, 2002. A native of Long Island, he was the son of the late Raymond T. and Martha Mitchell Bailey. He graduated from Sea Cliff High School and attended Hamilton College. He resided in Old Brookville, before moving to Palm Beach Gardens, FL in January 2002. Mr. Bailey was the owner and operator of Bailey's Garden Center, Sea Cliff. He was a former member of Brookville Reformed Church, Brookville and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach, FL. Mr. Bailey was a former member of the Rotary Club of Glen Head and a member of the North Palm Beach Rotary Club. As a Rotarian for many years, he was awarded Rotary Club's highest honor by being designated a Paul Harris Fellow. Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of 52 years, Fiona M. Bailey; his beloved son, David (wife Debra) Bailey, two adored grandchildren, Mitchell and Kayla; one brother, William T. (wife Henrianna) Bailey, of Jasper, GA; his sister-in-law, Margaret M. Legge, of North Palm Beach; an aunt, Alice Underhill Mitchell, of East Williston,; two cousins, Janet Wolbrink of Michigan and Samuel Mitchell of East Williston and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. A Funeral Service was held with Rev. Allan B. Ramirez, pastor of The Brookville Reformed Church. Interment at Brookville Cemetery.
