The City of Glen Cove has proposed to put a four lane highway along the south side of the firehouse through Pratt Park.

On March 7, a public hearing was held at city hall. The fire department of the City of Glen Cove has gone on record numerous times before and again on March 7 against the roadway as proposed by former Mayor Suozzi, and the present administration headed by Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp.

The fire department feels the proposed roadway along side of the fire house will create an extreme safety hazard at the intersection in front of the fire house. This will affect our response to all emergency situations. This means there will be a direct effect on the safety of the public we serve.

Help us help you! Support your fire department. The members of our department will be coming to your neighborhood with a petition. Please sign our petition. Stop the proposed roadway before it is too late.

Thank you for your support from the officers and members of the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department.

William E. Neice, Chief

Thomas Cross, 1st Asst. Chief

David Spy, 2nd Asst. Chief

Vincent Martinez, Jr., 3rd Asst. Chief
