  • News: Garden of Remembrance Is Planted

    They gathered in Morgan Park, Glen Cove, on Oct. 21, 2001 to reflect and to begin to heal. They returned on Aug. 17, 2002 to build a Garden of Remembrance. Through the efforts of a private group of citizens, local businesses and civic organizations a special place of natural beauty has been created in Morgan Park where people can both honor the memory of those who perished and pay tribute to the heroes who saved lives on Sept. 11.   • News: Planning Board Gives New Supermarket the Green Light

    At the Glen Cove Planning Board meeting of September 5, Cove Associates, owners of the new Farmer's Market being built on Forest Avenue, announced that it has entered into a reciprocal agreement with adjacent property owners, FourT2 Associates, to ensure that the entire parking lot from the new supermarket to the store that used to be Edwards will be open to all customers. And in the rear of the premises, the reciprocal easement will allow the free flow of delivery and movement of trucks. FULL STORY

  • Sports: From the Glen Cove Football Gridiron

    This past Saturday the Glen Cove Pee Wee Cardinals White team started the season on the right foot by beating the West Babylon Cowboys by the score of 18-14. The Cardinals' offense started clicking in the first quarter led by the offensive line. Opening holes for the running backs were Drew Swenson, Jimmy Johansen, Nick Manzione, Gavin Lyon, Justin Esquilin, Michael Toldo and Matthew Borer. Behind this line Brent Harrison, Franklin Mickins, Jason Esquilin and Chris Thedorou kept pushing the ball down field. Jason Esquilin scored the Cardinals' first touchdown of the season from eight yards out making the score 6-0 at halftime. Defensively, the Cardinals were outstanding with special efforts given by Brian Dillon, Toldo, Johansen, Harrison and Borer. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Glen Cove Red Devils Are Hot

    During the weekend of Aug. 24, the Glen Cove Red Devils played with a U-15 team in the East Meadow Soccer Tournament. They played five very exciting games, winning four and tying one. The last game against a very skillful, strong team from Uniondale was the most exciting. Glen Cove knew they had to win the game to have a chance of winning the championship. Upon being down 1-0 after the first half, they came back to win 2-1. FULL STORY
