Mary Motyka (nee Czapilicki), of Glen Cove, died on July 9, 2002. Wife of the late Peter. Sister of Sr. Mary Michael, OCD, Henry Czaplicki, Florence Bunce and the late Sophie Lambertson, Phil, Violet Hendrickson, Helen Siarkowski, Stanley, Ann Shedorick and Al. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Hyacinth Church. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Bernard Homer, born in 1919, died on July 18, 2002. Father to four. Known to many. Services to be held in Glen Cove at the North Country Reform Temple July 29 at 4 p.m. Refreshments to follow. Contributions to North Country Reform Temple preferred over flowers.

Louis A. Klenkel, 70, of Bowie, MD, died on July 18, 2002. Husband of Mary E. Klenkel and the late Barbara A. (Ross). Lou was the president of Glen Cove High School Class of 1949. Prior to his career as a pilot with American Airlines, he served in the US Air Force for 12 years, attaining the rank of captain and was a recipient of numerous medals for service in Vietnam. Lou is survived by his children, Louanne, Heidi Hilend, Noelle Depperschmidt (Joel), Phillip (Shannon), Gary (Carron), Peter (Janet) and 20 grandchildren. Interment St. Paul's Episcopal Church at a later date.
Sunny (Selma) Szymanski, of Glen Head, died on July 29, 2002. Wife of (The Music of My Soul) Michael. Mother of Robin (Schick), Barbara (Markowitz), Tania (Rossi), Michael Flam and stepson Michael Plock. Sister of L. George Scheer and Abbey Lane. Grandmother of nine. Great-grandmother of one. Sister-in-law of Carolyn (Auerhan). Also survived by nieces, Jennifer and Katie and friends including Edward Bradley. She was an entertainer extraordinaire (Sunny Lane) and a vigilant child abuse activist.... and co-founder of The Children's Rescue Foundation. The world will miss her.
