Telstar Cardinals Win Jr. Girls World Series
To get the championship game, the Cardinals had to play the K of C Yankees, a team that had beaten them twice this year. In a back and forth game, the Cardinals came up with seven runs in the fifth inning and pulled out a 19-15 victory. Nicole Chiarella had a single, a double and three RBIs and Kimmy Kessel achieved the same stats. Ashley Casale stopped everything at second base, shining on defense. Kristen Cornelis came in to pitch with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth inning. She struck out a big batter, then closed down the Yankees in the seventh inning striking out the last two batters.
