The North Shore Men's track team won their first meet of the season by 1/2 point on April 8 in Oyster Bay. North Shore won the meet with 66 points, Seaford with 65 1/2 points, Oyster Bay with 64 points, and Cold Spring Harbor with 38 1/2 points.
Andrew Greig won all three of his events - the 1l0m high hurdles, the high jump, and the triple jump.
Jesse Sears scored in all three of his events - the 400m hurdles, the 800m, and as a member of the 4x400m relay team.
Peter Barbour again dominated the sprints with a second place finish in both the 100m and 200m events. Steve Smirti placed third in the 400m event.
The 800m event was also ruled by North Shore with Jesse Sears and Dan Kapuscinski taking third and fifth places. North Shore continued scoring with Garret Dafferner placing third in the 400m high hurdles.
North Shore's relay teams turned in exceptional performances. The team of Steve Smirti, Jesse Sears, Theo Fleishman, and Dan Kapuscinski won the 4x400m. The 4x100m and 4x800m relay teams both came in second. The 4x100m team consisted of Dan Bloomfield, Steven Liu, Garret Dafferner, and Peter Barbour. The 4x800m team consisted of David Rahimian, Dan Moadel, Matt Lopiccolo, and Sal Mercatante.
North Shore fared well in the field events. In the long jump, Steven Liu won the event, with his brother, Jeff Liu, placing fourth, and Alex Graham placing fifth. Matthew Grefe and Theo Fleishman placed fourth and fifth in the triple jump.
