It's District Report Card Time at the Glen Cove Schools
At the meeting of the Glen Cove Board of Education on Monday, April 22, Dr. Ingrid Spatt, assistant to the superintendent for curriculum presented the New York State School Report Card. This report card is an important part of the Board of Regents' effort to raise learning standards for all students. It is designed to provide information to the public on student performance and other measures of school and district performance. Knowledge gained from the school report card on a school's strengths and weaknesses can be used to improve instruction and services to students.

GC Planning Board Considers New Townhouses
The Glen Cove Planning Board held a public hearing on Tuesday, April 16 to consider the site plan and draft environmental impact statement for the proposed townhouse development to be located on a parcel of land in the Marine Waterfront 2 Zoning District, on Shore Road where Glen Cove ends and Sea Cliff begins.

Glen Cove's Ryan Fletcher Signs with the 49ers
Ten minutes after the National Football League's draft last Sunday, Ryan Fletcher of Glen Cove (GCHS Class of '97) signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Ryan will be reporting to the rookie 49ers mini camp on Thursday, April 25 and then he will travel back to Hofstra University to graduate this May with a degree in psychology.

North Shore Men's Track Team is Up and Running
The North Shore men's track team competed in its first meet of the season on March 25 at Locust Valley High School against Locust Valley, Manhasset and East Rockaway. The conditions were not very good for running as it was cold and blustery, but the team did quite well anyway.
