The new Glen Cove girls varsity lacrosse team has played two games so far this season, and while both scores would show the team had lost, the girls have the hearts of winners, and can go nowhere but up in the standings. The first game was played on March 19 against Mineola and the final score was 14-2. Glen Cove played with determination and energy. Laura Tripp scored the two goals of the game and, in her first, ever game in goal, Alexis Balincongan had eight saves.

The second game of the season was played against Manhasset on March 21 to a final score of 15-6. The Manhasset team was extremely fast and well skilled, and Glen Cove was determined and tenacious. Being down 11-1 at halftime only motivated them to play harder, and play they did. Goals were scored by Justine Gollub (3), Laura Tripp (2) and Vicki Belifore (1), with assists by Mara Isip, Justine Gollub and Alexandra Ravener. Goal saves were by Alexis Balincongan (6) and Ariana Amendolara (2). Good luck to this spirited and motivated team. Go Big Red.
