Mary W. Austin, 69, of Glen Cove, died on Jan. 12, 2002. Mary worked for the Glen Cove Housing Authority and was a member of the board of directors of the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club, a board member of the NAACP and active in HUD. Wife of the late Anthony. Rose Kenary (nee Murray), 95, a resident of Stamford, CT, formerly of Glen Cove, died on Jan. 14, 2002. Wife of the late James F. Mother of Margaret Kenary and Mary Airey. Julia Rose Kroboth, a long time resident of Mill Neck and recently The Hebrew Home for the Aged in Riverdale, died on Jan. 15, 2002. Julia discovered a talent for oil painting at Riverdale, where she became a permanent exhibitor of a senior art installation housed in Washington, DC. She was active at North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove's Holly Berry Shoppe where she taught arts and crafts. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Her husband Frank and two of her brothers predeceased Julia. Two additional brothers; sons Robert and Roland; her daughter Dianne; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren survive her. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass at St. Gertrude's RC Church and she was laid to rest at Locust Valley Cemetery. A special fund has been established to create a memorial in her honor at Riverdale.
