Glen Cove Pony Reds finished their regular season with a 7-3 record, as they beat Levittown Black 18-7.

The Pony Reds scoring started with a 10 yard pass from Ariel Bresky to Robbie Nedbor-Gross. Gross then outran the Levittown defense for 30 yards for the first touchdown. The touchdowns continued into the second quarter. Luis Cruz started with a rambling run in from the 10-yard line, off the tackle for his first touchdown of the season. Defense remained strong with Eric Caruso making a great tackle deep within the Levittown territory. Gross then had a great interception. Pony Red's 3rd TD was scored on a Bresky to Morales 15-yard pass and 20 yard dash to the end zone.

At this time Ariel Bresky, PJ Nunez, Randy Davis and Mike Catapano were pulled from the game as the team was up by 3 TD's. Each of these players had a great night running the ball of 15 yards or more, to set up the scoring plays.

There was great blocking by the defensive line of Austin Fender, Jim Leahy, Eric Filipone, John DeMarco and Edwin Ruiz, which allowed Glen Cove to score at will.

The defense was superb. There were two interceptions made by Nedbor-Gross, in addition to one each by Kevin Paolillo and Omar Morales.

Caruso and Rob Schifferstein made some great hits to stop Levittown's runs around the ends. This helped allow Alex Gonzalez, Steven Suozzi, Jim Leahy and Bresky to stop Levittown's inside running game all night long.

This important win gives the Pony Reds home field advantage as they face Copiague this coming weekend in the first round of playoffs Thanksgiving weekend. The team anticipates the return of Gabby Lebron for this important game.

Congratulations to all the players, and the coaches, Mark Bresky, Tip, Mike Caruso, and to all the assistant coaches for a great season. Good luck in the playoffs!

Playing their last regular season game, the Cardinals faced the Levittown Red Devils red team. With the Cardinals going on defense first, they stopped the Red Devils in their tracks. Leading the way for the Cardinals was Michael Toldo, Anthony Leake, Steve Gonzalez, Shawn Blumhaven, Devin Middleton, Pietro Lafortezza, Austin Bresky, Erik Dillon, Brent Harrison, Gavin Lyon, Matthew Colella and Blasie Dennis. This group spotted the Red Devils for every play except for one in which the Red Devils running back made a tremendous play.

Offensively, the Cardinal's running backs could not be stopped. Led by quarterback Taheem Vasquez, running backs John Bellock, Ryan Hopke and Chris Theodorou pounded the Red Devils defense up the middle and around the end. The run display would not have been effective if it weren't for the strong blocking of the offensive line. Opening up the holes for the running back were Luis Ayama, Owen Valance, Mich Manzione, Nick McAdams, Jason Esquilin, Cris Mellilo and Harrison. With the Red Devil defense back on their heels and keying the whereabouts of halfback Bellock in their minds, because of his past performances. With Bellock running to the right, Hopke started scoring with a 55 yard scoring pass from Vasquez. Beside his touchdown he kicked 2 two-point conversions. The other TDs were scored by Vasquez and Theodorou. Valance kicked the other two point conversion making the final score 30-6.

With the completion of the regular season, the Cardinals finished up with a record of 7-2-1. Because of their great season they finished third in their division and entered next week's playoffs. Coaches Pat McAdams, Bill Peete, Cesar Toldo and Julio Esquilin will prepare the Pee Wees for the game. The players and coaches thank all the parents, families, friends and fans for their great support all year.

The Midget Red did what the Big Red could not, by beating Bethpage on Sunday, and securing their place in the playoffs. With Big Red players, Charles McCullough and Travis Watson on the sideline for support, the Cardinals clipped the wings of the Silver Eagles 31-13!

After a few Bethpage first downs, the Cardinal defense stiffened, and Glen Cove took control of the ball, and the game. On the second play from scrimmage, Randell Lyons, following the blocks of James Theodorou, Joey Durso, and Anthony Bucceri, made his first of four trips to the end zone!

The defensive line of James Theodorou, Dougie Tripp, Michael Granados, Nate Booth, Antonio Stanco, Pierro DiLorenzo, and Zach Boyajian spent more time in the Bethpage backfield than Bethpage did, constantly tackling the Bethpage runners for losses. With Terry Jackson forcing a fumble that was recovered by Eric Tripp, the Cardinals were back in business. Randell would use the blocks of Michael Granados, Brian Brown, Kenny Catanzano, and Anthony Hendriks enroute to his second score. Eric Tripp would find Anthony McCarthy all alone in the endzone on the conversion pass.

Bethpage would try again, but forced to pass, Kristen Cornellis, Richie Maccaone, Joey Durso, Anthony Bucceri, and Dougie Tripp would not allow it. Back on offense, the Cardinals would find the end zone again for Randell's third TD.

Versatility was the name of the game for the Cardinals, as 5 different people played quarterback, and 8 different people ran the ball. In the third quarter, Bethpage would finally score. But, the Cardinals would answer quickly, as Randell took a turn at QB and hit Richie Maccarone on a streak up the sideline for another touchdown.

The last Cardinal touchdown was set up by the hard running of Jonathan Ruiz, and a nice catch by Peter Cappiello on an Eric Tripp pass. Randell would again take the ball across the line for the Cardinal touchdown.

Coaches Gallo, DiScalla, Rudloff and Catanzano were extremely pleased with the total effort of the Midget Red, and hope that it continues through the playoffs!
