John Lewis Grose, of Locust Valley, died on Oct. 25, 2001, at age 88. Loving husband of the late Barbara Houston. He is survived by a son Peter Lewis and a daughter Judith Grose-Johnson; nine grandchidren and six great-grandchildren. A second son John Francis passed away in October 1999.
He was partner of the law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae for over 30 years. He was born and raised in Great Neck (as was his wife Barbara). They lived there until 1971 when they moved to Locust Valley. He attended Deerfield ('31), Amherst College ('34) and Yale Law School ('37). He was a former member of The Creek Club, Manhasset Bay Yacht Club and the Adirondack League Club.
A service will be held on Nov. 25 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Great Neck.
Adam J. Trubish, of Glen Cove, died on Nov. 13, 2001. He was a combat veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater with the US Army. He retired from Grumman as supervisor of the Plastic Division. He was past captain of the Hook and Ladder Co., Glen Cove Fire Dept., 1896 Grand Marshal for the Memorial Day Parade of Glen Cove, past president of the Polish National Home, Glen Cove, Sergeant at Arms for the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 76, and a lifetime member of Glen Cove Elks Lodge #58. Husband of Helen (nee Wolczok). Father of Adam Jr. (Pam), Christine Pesner (Stanley), Joan Freitag (Peter), Marianne Trubish and Paul (Dorothy). Grandfather of Tara, Alyson, Karyn, Heather, Peter, Nicole, Tyler and Danielle. Great-grandfather of one. Brother of Peter Sr. and the late Joseph and Charles. Joseph (Butch) M. Barcellos, of Glen Head, died on Nov. 15, 2001. He was an exempt member of the East Norwich Fire Dept. Father of Joseph, Jody and Karen.
