I've never been a person to voice my opinion in print; unfortunately, Stop & Shop must be stopped. Prices are too high, on the average of 21 cents per item in recent weeks; poor circular sales compared to your competition, a discount card for your key ring that hardly discounts, and the elimination of the free turkey for the holidays.

Our community seniors and residents, including me, enjoyed this special treat. They would bring the turkey to relatives so they felt they contributed to the holiday festivities. Others may have donated it to their church for the needy like I did for holiday baskets.

The 10 percent discount should be a standard practice for valued customers. We all know that the profit margin is high at this store because of the isolated location in Glen Cove. As a result of this, Stop & Shop is clearly taking advantage of our community.

King Kullen, Shop-Rite, Waldbaum's, Pathmark still provide turkeys for your holiday season with a $250 order.

So Stop & Shop should get with the program before customers stop shopping at Stop & Shop!
