Speak of stellar statistics, Mayor Tom becomes NCCEO (Nassau County chief executive officer) with his 2-1 countywide triumph, but never forget: Bruce was completely and grotesquely Bent out of shape by the mayor's 4-1 obliteration of him in Glen Cove!

Also noteworthy from that election day is that the two top council winners (Granger and Meehan) plus the two top council losers (Gonzalez and Zuccala) amassed a total of 15,997 votes. Compare that figure with the paltry 5,686 votes the two winners (Bates-Wilkins and Schmeller) plus the two top losers (Smith and McElrath) totalled only in May in the Glen Cove School Board "election."

Yet the schools spend and tax at more than twice the rate of the city government! Isn't it time we started putting the entire Glen Cove community - all 25, 26, or 27,000 of us, obviously including our children - first?

Assemblyman Sidikman: Senator Marcellino: when are you two going to take the lead in your respective chambers to elect school boards in these 57 small cities at least as openly and democratically as city governments through November - not May - elections, all members being elected at the same time for the same term length and - at local option - pay them?
