The Glen Cove Comanches had to win two big games on Oct. 21 to make the playoffs and we did it. The O.L.F. Knights of Manhattan came to town.

Game 2: Kevin McGuire got the job done like he has so many times this long season pitching 5 inn, 2 hits, 11 strikeouts, 0 runs in a 10-0 victory. Robert Tartaro went 2 for 3 with 5 stolen bases. Frank Carrotta went 2 for 4, 2 RBIs. We made the playoffs by the skin of our teeth. Sunday 10-28 up to Riverdale.
Game 1 vs. the undefeated Co-op City Pirates who beat us twice this season. Not this time, in a game full of hits, we came out on top 13-9.
Kevin McGuire pitched 7 inn, picking up his 4th win (4-2) 5 strikeouts, 13 hits. Donnie Daniels homered along with 2 singles, 4 RBIs. Frank Carrotta got things started with a 3-run homer in the 1st inn adding a double later. Paul Casale, Jr., 2 key hits, 2 RBIs'; Rich Nelson, 2 key hits, 1 RBI.
Game 2 vs. Riverdale Cardinals with only 9 players we were in trouble from the get go vs the league's top hitting team with an 11-1 record. To make a long story short, Riverdale 18, Glen Cove 15. We were on our way home beat tired and in 3rd place. Now, it's time for a nice long rest - we need it.
