Patricia Hughes Leahy, 71, of Boca Raton, FL, and Plano, TX, passed away after a short-term battle with cancer, on Oct. 15, 2001. Born in the Bronx, she was a longtime resident in the Locust Valley/Glen Cove area. She was formerly associated with Walton P. Davis Moving & Storage Co., serving as office manager for 28 years, before retiring to Boca Raton in 1987. She leaves behind two children, Jay (Debby) Leahy of Boca Raton, and Cheryl Leahy of Plano; her younger sister, Barbara (Gil) Cooper of Plano; brother, Tom (Josephine) Hughes of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Brian Leahy of Jacksonville, Brad Leahy of Boca Raton and Adam Leahy of Plano. A Memorial Mass was held at St. Patrick's Church. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to Hospice VNA, 2414 West University, Suite 200, McKinney, TX 75070.

Edward C. Borroughs, a longtime resident of East Norwich, formerly of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 19, 2001. He was 72. He served in the US Air Force, obtaining an honorable discharge with the rank of captain, and later gave 10 years of service in the Air National Guard. By profession, Mr. Borroughs was president of his sales manufacturing business, Borroughs, Jorge & Melillo in NYC.

His community benefited by his many talents - he held the position of commissioner of accounts for the City of Glen Cove and was on the board of directors for the Glen Cove YMCA. A parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church, he served his church as a Deacon.

Mr. Borroughs is survived by his wife, Leavelle (nee Billingsley), and his children - his daughter, Victoria Bustamante (Fernando), sons Bruce (Lisa), Richard (Galit) and Douglas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tom, Elizabeth, Amanda, Edward James, Nicholas and Christopher; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Maude.

Arrangements were made by the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay. Memorial service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Joseph Frank Morano, 73, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 22, 2001. Husband of the late Theresa. Father of Patricia and Rosemarie Filippone (Lawrence). Brother of Frank and Loretta Condello. Grandfather of Lawrence, Michael and Eli. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's RC Church. Burial Maple Grove Cemetery.

Herbert G. Berry, 86, formerly of Sea Cliff, died on Oct. 22, 2001. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on July 13, 1915, he resided in Sea Cliff until 1978. A graduate of Sea Cliff HS, he went on to receive his BS in engineering at Alfred University and MS at Ohio State University in engineering and ceramic design. He was employed by Sperry for 25 years, working on early designs of the space program. During the 1950s and '60s, he managed early Little League teams in Sea Cliff and was also a Boy Scout leader. Husband of Flora L. Berry. Father of James H. Berry, Louise Bogart, Evelyn Berry, Richard T. Berry and Bruce A. Grandfather of seven. Great-grandfather of five. He was predeceased by Marion Simons and Florence Kreyer. Arrangements were made by the O.B. Davis Funeral Home, Miller Place. Service at St. Mark's RC Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Julio Espino, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 23, 2001. He is survived by his children, father and brothers. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's Church. Interment will take place in Peru.

Antoinette Rocco (nee Pascucci), of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 25, 2001. She was an honorary member of the St. Rocco Rosary Society. Wife of the late Pasquale. Mother of Marie Elaina, Pat (Mary) and Phil (Rosella) Rocco. Sister of Rose Toscano of Minnesota. Also survived by six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Marcus L. Bianconi Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Rocco. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.

Harold W. Sujeski, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 28, 2001. Husband of Helen R. (nee Hornowski). Father of Harold Jr. and Thomas. Grandfather of Chad. Brother of Everett, Mildred, Doris and the late Edward, Herbert, John, Alice and Lillian. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Religious services at Carpenter United Methodist Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.
