On Sunday the Glen Cove Peanuts football team attended a K of C pasta dinner fund raiser as they have for the past three years. As usual there's some hard work to do before dinner and the boys did some job. They defeated Wantagh 30-12 to remain unbeaten at 6-0. Rather than list the accomplishments on the field and at the table, let's do this. On that day, Joseph Anile had 4 sacks, 10 key blocks and 3 bowls of ziti. Gregory Bonanca didn't feel up to playing in the game but did put away two bowls of spaghetti, 2 meatballs and a salad. James Catanzano had 1 touchdown run, 1 touchdown pass, 1 spaghetti and meatballs, 2 bowls of salad. Tyrone Davis has some touches, some tackles and some appetite. Joshua Figueroa had 2 tackles, 2 blocks and 2 bowls of pasta fagiola. Billy Flahive had 3 solo tackles, 10 big blocks, 1 linguine with clam sauce, and 3 pieces of bread. Tiquan Garner had 1 touchdown run, 3 passes, a lot of big hits and 3 bowls of penne a la vodka. Steven Giordano had 3 blocks, 1 tackle and 2 meatballs with ziti. Cristian Klimazewski had 1 sack, 8 blocks, 4 meatballs and 2 bowls of linguine with garlic and oil. Thomas Milne had 3 blocks, 1 tackle, and 3 bowls of tortellini with him in cream sauce. Kristopher Moran had 3 tackles, 3 blocks, and 3 cookies along with 2 bowls of pasta. Ryan Perkins had 4 tackles, 4 blocks, 1 touchdown run and a lot of food. Matthew Petersen had 2 tackles, 1 block, 4 bowls of penne and 1 loaf of bread. The following players could not attend the dinner but played an outstanding game. Peter Lizza had 4 blocks, 2 tackles; Zehan Joshi had 4 tackles, 2 blocks; Josh Schwarts had 4 carries, 1 touchdown run and Tony Palmieri had a touchdown reception, 8 big hits and tons of great blocks. Everyone had a great time, but next week it's off to Wantagh at 10 a.m. Thanks to the K of C for a great dinner.
