Planning Board Considers Orchard Project, NSUH and AvalonBay
On Aug. 21, the Glen Cove Planning Board unanimously passed a resolution recommending the city council give the board a directive to study the Orchard neighborhood "with an eye" toward recommending zoning code amendments. The planning board believes that changes to the zoning district in the Orchard would be a benefit to the community at large. The need for a look at the Orchard's zoning was illustrated by an application before the board for a public hearing that same evening.

On July 6 the Comanches played Bethpage at Eisenhower Park trailing 4-0. They rallied for a 11-5 victory. Robert Tartaro picked up his first win of the season pitching 5 innings, 5 strikeouts, 2 hits, 0 runs. Richard Nelson had 2 singles and a triple. Dan Matuzak had a single, double, 3 RBIs and Donnie Daniels had a key hit and 2 RBIs.
