Glen Cove School Board Meeting
Coles School, Drug-Free Driver Ed and Planned Parenthood:
The Glen Cove Board of Education met on August 6 in the high school cafeteria. Only a dozen people attended the meeting which had, as agenda items, the lease agreement for Coles School; the appraisal of Coles School; launching non-invasive drug testing as a requisite for driver education and a discussion centered on the elimination of Planned Parenthood as participants during the middle school's BIONIC program.

Radiation in Dredge Spoils Hot Topic of Meeting
The LiTungsten Task Force sponsored a meeting in Glen Cove City Hall on Aug. 2 to answer questions and discuss community concerns regarding the findings, last May, of elevated levels of radioactivity in the dredge spoils of Glen Cove Creek. This was the second meeting on the same topic in as many months.

Mayor's Trophy Tournament Boys' 9 and Under: The Glen Cove Red finished its season in the tournament, 7-0, with excellent pitching and fielding and with the best hitting in the tournament.

Muddogs in the Hunt for First Place
In the final weeks of the season, the Glen Cove Muddogs completed a series with the SYAG Braves and the N.S. Giants. Winning both series brings their record to 12 and 4. With five games to go they are making a run for first place.
