Rosalie (Pittluck) Jay, 81, of Glen Cove, died on June 29, 2001. Services were held at Beth Moses Cemetery in Pinelawn with Rabbi Janet Liss of the North Country Reform Temple officiating. Bett" was born in Brooklyn, the daughter of Helen and Charles Pittluck. She graduated from Cornell University. She spent her married life devoted to her family. She was a past Girl Scout leader and the president for several terms of "The Auxiliary" at North Shore University Hospital at Glen Cove. She was a member of the North Country Reform Temple. Bett loved to play tennis, travel, and enjoyed entertaining her family. She was the wife of the late Edgar N. Jay. She also leaves her son Robert Jay (Judy) of Atlanta and daughter Ellen Salvo (Lenny) of Dix Hills; her sister, Dr. Patricia Minuchin (Dr. Salvatore); grandchildren Jennifer, Adam, Matthew, Amy and Jill (John); great-grandchildren, Randy and Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donations may be made to "The Auxiliary" at NSUH, 101 St. Andrews Ln., Glen Cove, NY 11542.

Jean Chambers, 81, of Sea Cliff, died on July 1, 2001. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard E. Chambers; mother of Christine Chambers-Merriman; grandmother of Suzanne McEwan and Kathryn Marshburn; and great-grandmother of Jacob and Madison Marshburn, all of Greensboro, NC. Interment was private. Memorials in honor of Jean may be sent to the North Shore Lions at 57 St. Andrews Ln., Glen Cove, NY 11542.

William S. Pastore, of Glen Cove, died on July 4, 2001. Brother of Ray Conrad. Uncle of Mary Donaldson and Jonathan Dunlap. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Burial private.

Charles Conti, 90, of Glen Cove, died on July 9, 2001. Husband of the late Christina. Father of Rena Mercurio (Sam), Tony (Mary Ellen), Thomas (Joan) and Mary Ingoglia (Peter). Grandfather of 10. Great-grandfather of 14. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass at St. Rocco's RC Church. Entombment St. John's Cemetery, Queens.

Vivian J. Van Kleeck (nee Snyder), 84, of Glen Cove, formerly of Kearny, NJ, died on July 10, 2001. She was a retired payroll supervisor for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NJ. Mother of Phyllis Harbach (James). Sister of Ronald Snyder. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Interment private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Paul Bruehl Sr. died on July 10, 2001, at his home in Locust Valley at the age of 102. After emigrating from Germany in 1927, he lived with his wife, Emmy, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, for 60 years. In the late 1930s he was an active participant in the labor movement on behalf of the American Federation of Labor, organizing union groups in NY and Pennsylvania before founding his own specialized upholstering business. He was active for many years as a mediator in labor disputes in Pennsylvania. He was a member of several choral groups as well as president of the German-American Federation in Wilkes-Barre. He is survived by his two sons, Paul of Locust Valley and Ralph of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Service was private.

Nicholas C. Potter, of Mill Neck, died peacefully at home on July 10, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 62 years old. Husband of Clare. Father of Cary Nicholas Jr. (Alison), Christopher Kingsland and Jennifer. Grandfather of Macy Lockheart, Nina Webb and Nicholas Alonzo. Son of Julia M. Thompson. Brother of Charles, Dickie and Frances Thieriot. Until his retirement in 1997, Mr. Potter was a senior executive at J.P. Morgan & Co. A graduate of Yale University, he joined Morgan in 1965 after destroyer service in the US Navy. Over the course of his 32-year career, he held a variety of senior positions with Morgan, all in the investment management area. In 1974 he started with the firm's international investment management business in London putting Morgan at the forefront of one of the world's most rapidly growing financial services businesses. In 1984, he was appointed president and chief executive of J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Inc. with overall responsibility for investment management. Under his leadership, J.P. Morgan became one of the largest and most successful global investment managers in the world. Mr. Potter was director of Phoenix House, a trustee of The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and a trustee of The Hospital Reinsurance Company, director, chairman of the Finance Committee and member of the Executive Committee of the Munich American Reinsurance Company. From 1985 to 1996, he served as a trustee of St. Mark's School Southborough, MA. Services were held on July 16 at St. John's of Lattingtown Church in Locust Valley. Memorial contributions can be made to Phoenix House Development Fund, 164 W. 74th St., New York, NY 10023. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove.

Ann F. Rossiter, of Locust Valley, died on July 10, 2001. Daughter of the late Francis L. and Gladys H. Sister of the late John F. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass at St. Gertrude's RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.

Annie Belyski, of Locust Valley, died on July 11, 2001. Wife of the late Adam. Mother of Stancy Mentnech, Adam Doyle, June and the late John. Grandmother of 14. Great-grandmother of 20. Great-great-grandmother of two. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.

Julia McCue, of Glen Cove, died on July 11, 2001. Wife of James. Sister of Angelo and John Famiglietti, Rose Macedonio and the late Michael and Mary Whalen. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's Church. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Brookville. Gertrude A. Mills, 87, of Glen Cove, died on July 11, 2001. Mother of Maurice (Ruth). Sister of Evelyn Simmons and Rosella Simmons. Grandmother of Craig and Erik (Jenny). Great-grandmother of Daniel. Maria Larin, 94, of W. Babylon, formerly of Glen Cove, died on July 12, 2001. Wife of Manuel. Mother of Pedro, Lino, Lola and Carmen. Sister of Celia Luberta and the late Carlos Noy. Grandmother of nine. Great-grandmother of 16. Great-great-grandmother of one. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Burial East Hillside Cemetery.

Mary R. Saraceni (nee Medugno), of Glen Cove, died on July 13, 2001. Wife of the late Jimmy. Mother of Maryann Palmirotto and Frank Saraceni. Also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Sister of Mildred Davidson, Juliet Yamond, Fannie Troffa, Angelo Medugno and the late Florence Minicozzi, Henry, John, Michael and Louis Medugno. Arrangements were made by the Marcus L. Bianconi Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Rocco. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
