Biagio Lanza, 67, of Locust Valley, died on June 18, 2001. Husband of Arlene. Father of Gregory and Gary (Stacy). Grandfather of Justin Nicholas. Brother of Carlo, Lorenzo, Salvatore, Aurelio, Rosario, Angelo and Sarina Tripodi. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass at St. Rocco's RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.

Anthony Dituro, 82, of Locust Valley, died on June 18, 2001. He was a longtime member and usher of St. Gertrude's Church, a charter member of the Holy Name Society and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. Husband of Frances. Father of Michael and Tony. Brother of Anna Simone, Catherine, Bart and Tom. Grandfather of Anthony, Christie, James, Jack and Tony. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass celebrated at St. Gertrude's RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.

Frances J. Malon, formerly of Glen Cove, died on June 19, 2001. Wife of the late James. Sister of Josephine Dwyer, Victoria Blankmeyer, Stella Atkinson and Thomas and Alexander Malon. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral service. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. John J. Sweeney, of Plantation, FL, formerly of Glen Cove, died on June 21, 2001. Husband of the late Beatrice (nee Flynn). Father of Rita Anne Lasser, Gerald Sweeney and the late Veronica Darcy. Grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery.

Phyllis Siegelman, 71, of Glen Cove, died on June 22, 2001. Wife of the late Arthur. Mother of Richard and Jonathan (Janet). Sister of Milton (Marilyn). Grandmother of Justin and Jesse. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Burial Calverton National Cemetery.

Gertrude Gould, of Sea Cliff, died on June 23, 2001. Gertrude worked for many years and retired from the NC Dept. of Social Service. When she wasn't working at her job, she was working on improving her community by being active in numerous organizations. Gertrude was involved in The Salvation Army Women's Group, the Sea Cliff Ambulance Fund, Sea Cliff Senior Action Committee, Docent of the NC Museum of Art as well as a voting inspector. She was very eager to learn and was known for her great love of animals and generosity by donating to various charities. Gertrude loved life, people and music and especially dancing; her favorite quote was "Dance like no one is watching." She is survived by her husband Harvey and daughter Sharon Galvin. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral service. Interment Beth El-Keser Memorial Park, West Haven, CT. Her family has requested that contributions be made to Lymphoma research in her memory.

Grace Matthew died on June 25, 2001. Wife of the late Robert. Also survived by her nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's Church. Interment Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby, CT.
