Glenwood Landing Gas Plant Voluntary Cleanup Program
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), in cooperation with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) would like to inform the community about the environmental site investigation which will begin at the former Glenwood Landing Gas Plant facility. The approximately 20-acre site is a former modern liquid propane gas cracking plant and propane storage tank farm. The gas facilities have been decommissioned and demolished, and the propane storage tanks have been removed. A laboratory services operation remains active at the site.

Special Meeting of the Glen Cove School Board
On May 7, after a Meet the Candidates forum featuring the five candidates running for two seats on the board of education which was followed by a mandatory public hearing on the proposed 2001-2002 school budget, the Glen Cove Board of Education met in special session in the high school cafeteria. The school budget and board of education hopefuls will be put before the city's voters on May 15.
