Construction to Begin at Glen Cove Public Library
After many months of planning, Board President Michael Maher and the Board of Trustees of the Glen Cove Public Library are pleased to announce that construction will begin on the long awaited building extension. This expansion will provide the library with many necessary features including additional quiet study space, enhanced access for the disabled, greatly improved Community Room facilities, and an additional rest room. Of utmost importance are the improvements to building accessibility; elevator access for the mobility impaired to the Community Room and the fiction collection, ramp access to the Community Room, and ADA compliant rest room facilities.
Suozzi to Unveil Restored Natural Landmark April 21
Mayor Thomas Suozzi and the City of Glen Cove extend an invitation to all on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for an Earth Day Celebration and dedication as he unveils a newly restored Mill Pond.
Baseball/Softball Parade April 21
The Glen Cove Junior Baseball League commences its baseball softball season with its baseball parade this coming Saturday, April 21. Junior baseball teams will march from Robert Finley Middle School at 10 a.m. to the John Maccarone Memorial Stadium where opening ceremonies will be held and Mayor Thomas Suozzi will throw out the first ball.
Glen Cove Jr. Baseball/Softball Golf Outing
Glen Cove Jr. Baseball/Softball's annual golf outing will be on Monday, May 21 at the Glen Cove golf course. The day begins with lunch at noon and continues with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Donation is $120 per person which includes lunch, greens fee, cart, prizes, cocktail hour and dinner at the Metropolitan Club in Glen Cove. Dinner only is $50; tee sponsorship is $100 and flag sponsorship is $250.
