Planning Board Approves Gateway Plaza
On Nov. 21, the Glen Cove Planning Board unanimously approved Gateway Plaza, a mixed use, (commercial/residential), project slated for the former Eisenstadt's and OTB sites. The project, submitted by Glen Cove Partners, espouses two concepts in development; middle market rental housing and the reuse of previously developed property. The middle market rental idea was conceived for "smart growth" to fit in locations with mixed use projects in downtown areas, to address the shortage of middle level housing and the "brain drain" of college graduates leaving Long Island to live elsewhere.

With the teams exchanging possession repeatedly, it was Lyons again on a 40-yard run that gave Glen Cove the lead at half time, 12-6.
