Fire Dept. Sounds Alarm on Waterfront Roadway
The Glen Cove City Council was taken by surprise during their meeting on Nov. 14 when the city's volunteer fire department chief took the microphone and voiced the department's concerns regarding a proposed roadway to the waterfront. The roadway is an integral part of the city's ambitious waterfront revitalization project and it involves extending the arterial highway from its juncture at the firehouse straight to the creek; essentially, straight to where a hotel/conference center and marine-related businesses will be located.

From the Glen Cove Jr. Football Gridiron
On Nov. 12, the Cardinals Pee Wee White team hosted Lindenhurst. A win would bring the season record to 6 wins, 4 losses and would earn the team a playoff berth. After trading possessions, Glen Cove marched down the field and was faced with a 4th down and 2 yards to go on the Lindenhurst 6 yard line. Quarterback Christopher Borer faked left and ran a bootleg right, racing in for the score. The extra point run by Taheem Vasquez was successful and Glen Cove led, 7-0.

End of Season Luncheon for Golfers
The lady golfers of the "Nine Holers" Club of the Glen Cove Golf Course, had a great time celebrating the last of a competitive golfing season. The delicious luncheon was held at Glen Cove Page One Restaurant on Oct. 26. The occasion was mainly to award prizes won by members during the past season.
