  • NEWS: Police Investigating Death of Glen Cove Man

Glen Cove police are working hand-in-hand with Nassau County Homicide and the 2nd Squad to investigate the death of Fernando Mancia after the body of the 23-year-old Glen Cove resident was found on the Hendrick Avenue overpass in Glen Cove just after 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29. The Nassau Medical Examiner's Office reported that an autopsy showed the cause of death to be blunt force head trauma. It appeared that there had been a struggle, and police are investigating the possibility that the motive for the attack was robbery. According to Glen Cove Detective John Nagle, Mr. Mancia, the father of two young sons, was a good family man who worked at a steady job as a house painter. Det. Nagle said there is no reason to believe that Mr. Mancia was in any way involved in a gang, or that the killing was gang-related. FULL STORY
