The Pirates had a bye the first round of the playoffs, and then went into the semi-finals to face the 4th place team, McCarthy's Deli Blue Jays to advance to the finals against the 3rd place Charles of Glen Cove Phillies, who had beaten the 2nd place Forest Pizza Braves to advance to the finals as well. The Sons of Italy Pirates continued their winning ways against the Phillies, beating them two straight games in the best-of-three World Series. On Monday, June 19, the Pirates and the manager and coaches held their trophies up high for all to see. Congratulations to all the players.
