Peter E. Lynch Jr., of Glenwood Landing, died on Aug. 6, 2000. Born in Mineola, he was a veteran of the US Navy. He was former proprietor of P.E. Jones Irrigation, Glen Head, and was very active in his community. He was past president of the Glen Head Rotary Club receiving the Paul Harris Award, life member and ex-trustee of the Glenwood Fire Co., member of American Legion Post #336, the Glen Head Businessmen's Association and past president of the LI Irrigation Association. Husband of Marjorie Lynch (nee Leden). Father of Peter Gregory Lynch (Patricia), Elizabeth Lynch and the late Richard. Grandfather of Shaun, Megan and Ian Lynch. Brother of Helen Lynch Becker (George). Also survived by nieces Linda Girardin (David), June Harmon (Richard) and great-niece April. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Joseph Wellersdieck, 70, of Port Orange, FL, a retired painter formerly with Local 798, Mineola, and also with Local 913, Mountain View, CA, and the International Brotherhood of Painters, died on Aug. 9, 2000 at his home. Mr. Wellersdieck, an Army veteran of the Korean War, the Engineers Unit, was born in Glen Cove and moved in January from Sunnyvale. Survivors include his wife, Betty; two son, Jack of Patchogue and James of Port Orange; a daughter, Janice Crosby of Niceville, FL; three sisters, Genevieve Murray of Glen Cove, Natalie Strauss of Port Orange and Harriet Olson of Syosset; three grandchildren, Michael and Carol Crosby and Johnnie Wellersdieck; and several nieces and nephews. Gae M. Brown, a longtime resident of Oyster Bay and Locust Valley, died on Aug. 13, 2000. She had a bachelor's degree in drama and dance from C.W. Post LIU. She enjoyed amateur theater productions. She was a longtime member of AA for which she gave gratitude and thanks for the gift of sobriety. Mother of Chris and Michael Brown. Grandmother of Gabriel and Vito.
