Betty Mae (Bim) Carmody, 75, a resident of Tustin, CA, died on June 5, 2000, after a lengthy illness (cancer). She retired from the Glen Cove School District in 1981 after 21 years in the guidance office. She moved to her home in California and became assistant to the dean of the University of California at Irvine. She is survived by her daughter, Caroline; her sister, Lois Rizzi; and her nephews, Joseph and Donald Rizzi. Funeral services were held in Tustin.

Hugh McIntosh, of Glen Cove, died on July 6, 2000. He was a longtime harness horse trainer. Husband of Frances (nee Petrucci). Father of Jill Boguszewski (Henry). Brother of Catherine DeLoreia (Harold) and Margaret Reeves. Brother-in-law of Mary Petrucci. Uncle of Joey Petrucci. Arrangements were made by the Marcus L. Bianconi Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Services with the Rev. William Wendler officiating. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.

Joseph M. Hamlin, of Glen Cove, died on July 8, 2000. He was an alumni of Cardinal Hayes High School, Bronx, a graduate of NYU and a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1828. Husband of Theresa. Father of Forrest (Teresa), Vivian, Byron (Nancy), Juliette, Sterling, Giselle, Olivia and Trevor. Brother of Frank and Denise. Grandfather of Lee Ann, Kristina and Teddy. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's RC Church. Burial Calverton National Cemetery.

Virginia C. Anderson of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Glen Head, NY, died on July 9, 2000. Born in Staten Island, she was a homemaker. Wife of Arthur. Mother of Arthur, Debra, Virginia, Wayne, Carol, Kim and Glenn. Sister of James Small and Dorothea Small. Grandmother of 10. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Andrea Puca, 67, a long time resident of Glen Cove, and founder of Puca Construction Corp., died on July 3, 2000, in his home town of Sant'Antimo, Italy. Husband of Carmela. Father of Domenico, Joseph, Lucia, Salvatore, Jerry and Antimo. Grandfather of Andrew, Andre, Carmela, Carlo, Vincenzo, Lucia, Cara, Andrew, Andrea, Andrew, Serena and Arianna. Brother of Giuseppe Puca, Rosa Cicatiello and Carolina Brasiello. Funeral services were set in Italy. Friends of the deceased should contact Domenic or Joseph Puca at 671-3693.

Margaret W. Nugent (nee Scarlett), of Burbank, CA, formerly of Glen Cove, died on July 12, 2000. Wife of the late John A. Mother of Patricia A. Lombardi, Dolores F. and Jean E. Nugent. Grandmother of Michael P., Thomas P. and Robert J. Lombardi and Healther N. Paluso. Great-grandmother of seven. Aunt of Hugh and Claire Donohue. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.

Philip F. Puleio, 53, of Lattingtown, died suddenly on July 16, 2000. He was founder of the Rainbow Learning Centers. Husband of Susan M. Father of Jonathan Eric and Meredith. Son of Florence and the late Ludwig. Brother of Dennis and Norine Monti. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass celebrated at St. Gertrude RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Locust Valley C.S.D. Scholarship Fund in memory of Philip F. Puleio.

Thomas C. Stanco 82, of Locust Valley, died on July 17, 2000. Husband of the late Stella. Father of Michael (Barbara), Thomas A. (Linda) and Jamie (Susi). Brother of Josephine, Marian, the late Rose, Annette and Anthony. Grandfather of Kimberly Ann, Craig, Jessica Lynn, Matthew Thomas, Zachary James and Cassi Paige. Arrangements were made by the Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass celebrated at St. Patrick's RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Grenville Baker Boys and Girls Club, Locust Valley, NY.

Dr. William L. Marsden, 85, died recently at his home in Dexter. He had a private practice in Sea Cliff retiring in 1978. He had also practiced at Community Hospital, Glen Cove, and was the doctor for the Sea Cliff Fire Dept. and North Shore School System and football team.

Born June 26, 1915 in Newburgh, son of William G. and Alice E. Livingston Marsden, he began school in Newburgh and when he and his family moved to Syracuse, he continued his education there. He graduated from Nottingham High School in Syracuse, where he was a member of the state championship-winning relay track team. He graduated from Syracuse University and Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn.

A veteran of WWII, he served with the Army Medical Corps of the Army Air Corps. He married Dorothy E. Hyatt on March 12, 1944, at the Good Shepard Episcopal Church, Newburgh. The couple lived in Brooklyn during Dr. Marsden's residency and then moved to Sea Cliff where they lived until retirement. They moved to their Dexter home on Lake Ontario in 1978.

Dr. Marsden was a member of the Glen Cove Masonic Lodge, NC Medical Society, the Syracuse Orange Pack, Sigma Nu Medical Fraternity, Syracuse University Alumni Association, Syracuse University Medical Society Alumni Association, Theta Alpha Fraternity and the Glen Cove Rotary Club of which he was past president and governor's aide.

He taught Sunday school at Sea Cliff United Methodist Church, was a Little League umpire and worked with the Boy Scouts who were testing for medical merit badges.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and their husbands, Judyth M. and Gregory Kenney, Brockport, Kathy and Gerald Mackey, Lisle; two sons, and their wives, William L. Jr. and Jeanne, Cumberland, RI, and Robert H. and Cathy, Holley; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

The funeral was held at the Johnson Funeral Home. Burial Dexter Cemetery. Donations may be made to the football program of the Syracuse University Athletic Dept. or to a charity of your choice.
