Betty L. Madden, of Glen Cove, died on July 4, 2000. She is survived by her beloved husband, Capt. Robert T. Madden, professor of engineering at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point and her devoted daughters, Kathleen, of New York City, and Elizabeth, of Glen Cove, who teaches at All Saints Catholic School.
Mrs. Madden was a staff photographer for many years through the eighties and an active member of St. Boniface Martyr Parish in Sea Cliff. As the wife of Capt. Robert Madden, she was actively involved in the Officer's Wives Club of the United States Merchant Marine Academy. She received her AA degree from Nassau Community College in 1994 and from SUNY Old Westbury in 1996, majoring in accounting. Despite having battled with breast cancer for two years, she was recently in training for the Long Island Marathon, which she speedwalked (the half marathon) on May 7. She was a strong, vital woman, who gave much love and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Andrea Puca, 67, a long time resident of Glen Cove, and founder of Puca Construction Corp., died on July 3, 2000, in his home town of Sant'Antimo, Italy.
Devoted husband to Carmela. Father of Domenico, Joseph, Lucia, Salvatore, Jerry and Antimo. Adored grandfather of Andrew, Andre, Carmela, Carlo, Vincenzo, Lucia, Cara, Andrew, Andrea, Andrew, Serena and Arianna.
Survived by his brother Giuseppe Puca and his sisters, Rosa Cicatiello and Carolina Brasiello.
