The truth is, regardless of the lies and misinformation that Richard Smith wants you to believe, voting no and defeating the school budget will increase your taxes. Even Rodger the Dodger, Phil, Bill and Rocky know the truth. Now you all know the truth, not the misinformation by Richard Smith of the Piano Exchange. He could have used the accurate 6.2 percent increase and didn't. He could have told the truth that with the STAR exemption coupled with the 6.2 percent increase that the average Glen Cove homeowner would pay less this year, but he didn't. He could have said that without the STAR exemption the average homeowner's taxes would go up $1.23 per week but chose to forget that fact. He wrote in one letter that nobody believes that voting "no" means a zero increase but then warns tenants in another letter that a passed budget will mean higher costs inferring that a defeated budget won't. He talks out of both sides of his mouth just to defeat this budget knowing full well that only the students suffer when the district is forced into austerity. He knows full well the administrators, teachers or staff will remain unaffected; they all have contracts. We as home owners, renters, businessmen and women, taxpayers and human beings have a moral contract with these kids and one has to wonder why The Piano Exchange wants to break that contract. Are you sure that you want to break that moral contract too? Before you vote "no" ask yourself why Richard Smith of the Piano Exchange has it in for our kids and is that what you want?
Show the kids you care about their future and the future of Glen Cove and vote yes June 20. It's the right thing to do.
