North Shore men's varsity lacrosse has continued to have on- going problems with their season this year. Last week North Shore played Friends Academy, which is seeded one place higher then North Shore. North Shore had made it a point that they were to defeat rival Friends Academy. However, North Shore was not able to score when it was needed late in the game. This ended in an 8-5 loss to Friends Academy.
The Vikings also played the Manhasset Indians last week on Saturday, April 29. Although North Shore lost 12-4, the score did not reflect the level of North Shore's playing. The Vikings really stepped up their game for the most part with goalie Jeremy Collin's stopping 50 percent of the shots on goal (12 of 24). This was Collin's second highest save percentage all season long. Also, Matt Popkin had an excellent game scoring three out of four of North Shore's goals unassisted. All these factors say a lot about North Shore's potential since they did play what is undoubtedly the toughest team in the C/D conference.
As of distribution date the North Shore Vikings will have played a home game against Bethpage on Tuesday, May 2 at 4:30. Also, on Saturday May 6 the Vikings will play another home game, which will be against Roslyn at 1 p.m.
